Ant Bite

Wednesday, 27 May 2020

Today the frightening day has arrived for my dental appointment again. When the lobby staff pushed me up to the dental department, there were many people at the counter area.

When I reached the counter area, I straight went to the restroom as I will take some with my toileting. When I came out (restroom), I waited around 10mins when the nurse called me and pushed me into the Dr. room.

Today Dr. Edric is supposed to do root canal for my top right tooth. Actually, the most frightening thing is the injection. Even though it's like a small ant bite, every time I get an injection, my spasm will attack me. But this time it wasn't that painful. so my spasm didn't attack me much.

The root canal procedure took only half an hour. Luckily it wasn't that difficult and I stayed cool and calm. I need to come again another week to complete the filling.

After finish, the nurse wheels me to the reception area and paid my bill, I called Janice and waited for her at the lobby. I saw a nurse was using a scanning machine for the temperature in the lobby when people who go in. I never realized when I went in, the nurse scans me, I only knew they took my temperature.

Thank God, everything was over that morning.  I felt so relieved and also tired.

My follow up

Tuesday, 19 May 2020

Since my last Psychiatric follows up in March, I haven't been there due to the MCO.  My appointment has to be postponed twice until today 19/5.

Earlier this week, we suggested that mum follow me together, so she can see the doctor in the Outpatient Clinic for her follow up medication. But Janice came up with another idea, as she herself follows me to GH. We took Grab car as she is unable to drive me there, due to parking difficulty.

When we reach the lobby, I was surprised to see there were so many people, like it's back to normal days but everyone's is on a face mask. Before passing through the lobby, there were a few hospital staff taking everyone's temperature.

Before Janice push me up to the 1st floor, Psychiatric Department, we went to Orthopedic Dept to make an appointment. The past week, my fingers were having pain, as the previous visit the doctor did my trigger fingers.  There were only a few people waiting, so it was fast to have my appointment done.

Janice wheeled me to Psychiatric Dept, there were many people as some have to stand by the side. Janice left me there as she went to see the doctor (follow up) for mum and her father in-law's medication. I waited around 15mins and my name was called to take my blood pressure.

I waited for the doctor to call me. Everyone waiting has to sit two chairs apart. Some have to stand too. Less than half an hour, an Indian lady doctor called me in. She asked me many questions about my feelings and the medication I'm taking. I told her I wasn't feeling too good and she increased the dosage for my new medication. I also told her my hand (wrists) are always numb and pain.

Before I left, she wrote a letter for me to see the Neurologist.  When I came out, Janice was waiting for me.

After getting the letter, we went to Neurologies Department (104) to make an appointment. We went inside and there was only one nurse sitting at the desk.  She gave me an appointment date for next month.

We went down, Janice needs to collect medication for mum. There were a lot of people queueing up to go into Pharmacy, Janice had lined up for her turn.

I waited in the lobby as I wasn't feeling too well. I had hard breathing and heavy head due to crowded people, the hot weather, and was wearing a face mask. I sat under the fan and felt slightly better. Janice took some time at the pharmacy.

When she came out, we took a Grab car and went home. I felt relief that everything was over that morning.

Back to Therapy

Back to Therapy

I'm eager and keep that I'm able to go OT therapy again after stopping for 2 months due to MCO.

At 10.45 am Janice drop me at Block A (near to OT Dept). there are not many cars today, so it's easy for her to bring me down.  When she pushed me in there were a few staff was talking temperature of whoever walks in.

When I enter in OT reception area, the place was crowded with people (some wheelchair users) making their appointments. While others' were waiting for their turn to go in.

I waited around 10 minutes when Cik Muz (my therapy) called me in. Today there were no other patients in the OT room. It was 1-1 therapy with Cik Muz. I did stretching my hands and my trunk balance. I was happy I had a good exercise today and felt very tired.

Uncertainty

Uncertainty

The fear and uncertainty have come into my heart this morning, as I'm going to the dental in Adventist Hospital again.

Upon arriving at the hospital at 9.45 am, there were few people taking their temperature in the lobby. When I went up to the dental department, few people were waiting at the reception area.

I went to ease myself while waiting. I asked God to protect and keep me safe in the toilet. I was thankful HE kept me safe. When I came out, I heard my name was called. This time it was fast as I need not wait too long before my name was called

The disabled toilet was nearby to Dr. Edric's room, I slowly pushed myself there. As I arrived near the door, the nurse came to wheel me in. They were waiting for me. Each time when Dr. treats my teeth, the nurse needs to help me up to their chair.

He discussed with me another top right tooth which is not very strong for now. To save it, he needs to do root canal treatment which will be very costly. I told him I will arrange another day.

I ask him to check my left top tooth which was giving me pain for the past few days. He checked and took photos of my teeth for me to see. He showed and explained to me that my tooth needs filling.

I wasn't that fearful today as he only did a filling for my tooth. It went on smoothly and around 20mins it was over.  By 11 am, I was out of the Dr's room. I did my payment and the next appointment in two weeks' time. Mostly then, I will do my root canal.

Another scary time will be waiting for me in two weeks' time.  Dear God,
please help me again then.

What A Morning!!!

Monday, 4 May 2020

After the extraction of my teeth last Wednesday 29/4, there was still pain on my gum and my right cheek was swollen. Before the extraction, Dr. Edric told me if the pain continues after 3 days, he asked me to come back. I called up for an and they gave me an appointment on Monday 4/5

When Janice dropped at the lobby that morning, some people were queuing up to take their temperature before going into the hospital. Staff at the lobby wheeled me up to the dental department. There were more patients' on that day waiting at the reception area.

I waited more than half an hour before the nurse. Again, I didn't know what to expect. When Dr. Edric checked my teeth, another tooth had a small pulse which causes the pain and swelling. He told me it must be extracted too, but have to take an x-ray before carrying on.

Before I went for an x-ray, he gave me an injection. Due to it, my nerves attacked me. I wanted to take my spasm medication but have forgotten I left it in the car. I asked God to take control of my spasm.

While waiting for my turn for the x-ray, I went to ease myself. I asked God to help me while I was in the toilet. I thank HIM for keeping me safe while there.

I waited for sometime before went into the room, I saw there were more patients', parents with young children, young adults, and some elderly patients at the counter area. All of them wearing face masks.

As I was called into the x-ray room, a lady staff handle me. The room was quite small and narrow, luckily my small wheelchair was able to maneuver around. It was a slight difficulty to take the x-ray, but at last, they manage to do so.

The nurse wheeled me back to the Dr’s. room and he showed me my x-ray. He explained to me a few teeth had some problems and need to be treated. After that, he extracted another top left tooth. This time it was easier to extract.

Due to the fear, the nerve in my body attacked again me and I felt not good. Thank God, everything was over that morning. Next Monday I have an appointment again. What will happen then, only God knows!!

Fearful time

Wednesday, 29 April 2020

Fearful Time

Since last weekend I have been getting severe pain again on my right mold tooth. I made a few appointments in GH dental a month ago but was postponed due to MCO. Until this week, my tooth was too painful and my cheek was swollen too. Not only that, the same time my left top tooth which I did filling beginning of this month was in pain too.

Earlier this week I made an appointment for dental in Adventist Hospital.  Thank God, they gave me a slot on Wednesday 29/4. Janice dropped me there alone. Staff at the ground reception saw me, and he wheeled me up to the 5th floor. When I reached there, I saw many staff and patients around the counter. Other patients' were waiting to see their doctors' too.

While waiting, I was uncertain, and fear creeps in me on what Dr. Edric Yeap would do to my teeth. When I went into the room, we discussed my teeth and agreed to extract both right top teeth as they had given me lots of pain.

Dr. Edric was patient with me, when he started injecting my teeth, my head and limbs started shaking (due to my nerve). His assistance nurse had to hold my head tightly. He had some difficulty with the extraction as the root was too deep. When everything was over, I felt so relieved. But nerve was all over my body and there was severe pain on my teeth.  When I came home, I immediately took my medication for my spasm.

Thank God for giving the braveness to face the extraction ordeal alone.

God, What Are You Doing In My Life?

Tuesday, 2 May 2022 I'm lying on my bed now thinking of my life. What is God doing in my life? I really cannot understand. I keep thin...
