I thought this whole month of CMCO I will not able to meet my darling, but to my surprised, on Sunday (22/11) he wants to bring me out. I was happy that he understands I felt very bored at home.

We cannot go to any shopping mall, so the only place he can bring is to his center. When he came (to bring me there), he told me they are cooking steamboat. I was happy in joining them. After arrived at their center, my daring started cutting and prepare the dishes for the steamboat. Teik wasn't there, but later he arrived with his daughters. Teik started to heat up and put the dishes into the steamboat pot. There were around 10 dishes, some dishes they bought and some were given by outsiders.

It was nice and fun having lunch with them. I quietly eat while listen to them chatting. Later Teik son join us. It has been quite some time since I last saw Teik three children together. Everyone was enjoying the steamboat.

Later that afternoon, while chatting, we talked about my wheelchair tire and break which was not working well.  Teik wheelchair tire was better, so he changed my tire with his. He also tightens my wheelchair break. I felt happy as that afternoon he could change for me.

Since there were a lot of steamboats left, my daring prepared the food for me to bring home. After getting ready for everything, he brings me home. I felt happy to be with their company and to be at my darling side.

 

A Hot Afternoon

On Sunday (4/10) I thought I would be staying at home until my darling called me that night before saying they would be going Balik Pulau.

On that morning, my darling fetched me around 11 am and we went to their center. Our plan chanced as we were not able to go to Balik Pulau as Teik has to repair his motorcycle. 

So I spent my time at their center watching my darling helping Teik with his motor. I thought Teik wouldn’t take that long to repair his motor but he has a problem fixing the parts, so it took a long time until he finished in the afternoon.

We didn’t go anywhere except spend time at their center. It was quite a hot day. Even though I did nothing there and felt very hot, yet I felt happy I was near my darling.

 

Visit Aunty’s Apartment

I went out with my darling to their center and had lunch there. Teik and my darling cooked something different. It was enjoyable to be with them. Even though I sat quietly, but hearing them talking was nice enough. 

After lunch, we invited Teik and her daughter to check out my late aunt's empty apartment on the 1^st floor in Tanjung Tokong. Janice told me we can spend weekends there if my darling and Teik are free. The apartment has two rooms. The main thing was using the main room toilet. My darling tries pushed my wheelchair into the toilet/bathroom, it was quite narrow, but luckily my small wheelchair managed to get in. Other than that, I could manage the whole place.

We spent around 2 hours there chatting, then we went to Tesco (as it was very nearby the apartment. We bought a few things and headed back to their center.  After rested a while, my darling drops me home.

 

 

An enjoyable Afternoon

Today (9/8) I was happy that I see my darling again. Last few days, we have planned with Teik to go to Tesco Jelutong to buy our necessary daily things. that I see my darling again.

Around 11 am, my darling fetch me and we went to their center to meet Teik. When we arrive, he was halfway cooking a few dishes, so I hang out there until he finishes.

When he finished cooking, the four of us together with Teik and his 2nd daughter went to Tesco. It is quite nearby their center. When we reach there and drove into the parking. There aren't many cars, it's easy for us to park in the OKU parking lot.

There are not many people in the grocery dept. I was happy that I manage to choose, buy, and pay the items myself.  When we arrive at the counter to pay, the scanner is spoil. A few staff have to scan our items, so it takes slightly longer for us to do payment at the counter. 

I decided to register for a Tesco card, so my darling pushes me to the register counter. There was a Malay guy in charge. So many people at the counter inquire about many things. I paid RM10 for the registration of the Tesco card. I needed to key in my data, but their computer was on a high table.  The guy has to key in for me and also entertain other customers. Luckily everything was completed successfully.

After finish buying everything, we got out of Tesco. From there we drop by Sunshine supermarket in Perak Road, Teik went down to buy few things. It was 1.30 pm then, we went to a nearby coffee shop and buy food back to their center to eat.

When we are back at their center and had our lunch. Even it was a hot afternoon, yet I happy to be with there, talking and be with the company of my darling. Our other friends were occupied with other things. 

Around 5.30 pm he drops me home. Thank you, God, for giving me a good time with my darling.

 

 

Unexpected morning

On Sunday (5/7) I didn't expect to go out with my darling, as earlier a few days he told me would confirm with me. A day earlier, he came to my apartment for a recycling collection. I met him and he said meet me tomorrow, but I didn't hear clearly. I thought he would confirm with me that night but no calls or messages from him. So I took it that we were not going out.

The next day around 10.45 am, suddenly he called and told me will fetch me soon. I was surprised as I didn't get ready. So I told him to fetch me around 

11 am. I quickly got ready as I was keen to go out. Luckily, I was ready in time when he arrived.

After fetching me, we stop at their center and meet Teik and his daughters there. I didn't know where we're going until Teik says going for lunch, then would go to see a Muzium.

Around noon, we went for lunch at a food court behind Sunshine Square. It was a big spacious place with hawkers stalls selling types of food. People were having their lunch. We searched for a suitable place to sit. Most of the tables and stools were not suitable for wheelchair users, as all the stools were not able to be removed. Luckily, we found a long table and my wheelchair could get in.

After lunch, we went to a War Muzium in Batu Maung. As the price was RM22.00 per person.  It was too expensive so we didn't go in. We hang outside for a while. I never knew or heard a War Muzium at Batu Maung until that day I saw the place.  From there, we went to nearby Aquarium Centre, but sadly it closed.

Since the day was too hot, we ended up in Tesco Gelugor. Many cars went into the car park, but luckily we manage to park at the usual OKU parking lot.

There were lots of people all with face masks at the grocery dept. It was good to see people were out again. I only bought a few packets of tissue papers.

We were back to their center and chit-chat and had some food they cooked themselves. It was good to be out and be with their companies

Get-together again

It was beginning of March since MCO started l last saw my darling until this Sunday (21/6) My heart was full of happiness and joy as we can go out again.

Earlier one night, he asked if I want to go to Penang Hill together with Teik and his family, I agreed. My heart was full of trilled as I haven’t been there since 2012.

My darling fetched around 11 am and we stopped over at the recycle center. Together in Teik's car, we headed to Penang Hill. It was really good to see the road is full of vehicles again.

When we headed to Air Itam road towards to Penang Hill. My goodness! There was a long queue of cars going on that road. We follow the queue of cars until near outside Penang Hill and saw lots of people going in.  We drove near U-turn road and turn back. I was slightly disappointed as we unable to go up the hill

So we decided to go to Tesco Jelutong. When we arrived at the parking lot, there were only a few cars. We manage to park at the OKU parking lot. We straight went up to the 2nd floor, the grocery dept.

As we enter there was a long queue to take everyone's tempreture and write down our names (due to MCO). A few policemen were there to guard the place. 

I was glad I bought some of the items I wanted.

After buying everything, we went to Medan Selera Food Court for lunch. All the tables were slightly far apart and two persons were allowed to use one table. My darling and I shared a plate of hot mee.

After our meal, we went back to the center and enjoy the afternoon chit-chatting. It was a nice time gathering again.  Though we didn't manage to go to Penang Hill, spending our time in Tesco and at the center was enjoyable enough.

New Year Outing -2019

It was New Year's Day (1 Jan 2019).  As it was a public holiday, Teik and family, my darling and I together with a few disabled friends' went for BBQ at the MPPP beach in  Tanjung Bungah.

It was a beautiful and sunny day to see families with children, young, old and couples on the beach.  It was not the same as other beaches. The front of MPPP beach is very good because there is a ramp, which leads us to the shelter area. In front of it, there were steps leading to the beach. 

We had our BBQ there, facing the beach. While waiting for them to set up and BBQ set, I sat there watching the beach and ocean, few of our disabled friends' went down to the beach to collect seashells.

Teik and my darling did most of the toasting the chicken, seafood, etc. The others also join it toasting too. It was really a nice time having a BBQ there. We talked, laughed and enjoy each other company and the food too. 

I especially enjoyed watching the ocean and the people walking and playing on

the beach. I also enjoyed myself with their company.

Another good thing with MPPP beach, there was a big disabled toilet. When I needed to ease myself, I was able to handle myself as it was equipped with railing and bars.

After having a nice time at the beach, it was time to leave. We decided to adjourn to Balik Pulau to visit the Goat's Farm. I felt pleased that MPPP beach has facilities for disabled people.

Never did I knew there was a Saanen Dairy Goat Farm until we reached. I was happy and eager. But something happens to me, which out expected.

                                                     

We needed to park our cars outside and we walked into a pathway to the Goat Farm. It was a sloppy, unlevel and hard surface with small rocks on the ground. When my darling assisted me out from the car and pushed me down onto the sloppy, unlevel pathway.  My wheelchair (small front wheels) hit the hard ground. My whole self fell down onto the ground.  My darling was so scared as he carried me up from the ground.

Thank God, there was only minor scar on my face and on limbs. After my fall, I rested a while, then my darling pushed around to see the farm. As I was in pain on my face, I didn't enjoy much. But I saw a few goats, chickens' and some small cute animals in cages.

After seeing all the animals, we left that place.  We went for a ride in Balik Pulau 

before coming home.

Even though I fell down on New Year's Day, yet it was a great outing for me. I went to  different place of outings.

Thank you, God, for the minor hurt I had during my outing. and a nice, pleasant and enjoyable outing.

Simple Gathering

Today I have a simple outing with my darling. It was his off day, he asked me to join them for lunch, as he and Teik cooked steamboat in the center. It was some kind people who gave them food and they themselves cooked the soap.

When we arrived, the food was all already cooked. We started eating as the soup was boiling hot, and the food was dip inside the soup. It was really nice. I ate only a small portion as my stomach can contain that little only.

After eating, we sat in front of the standing fan and enjoy each other company. I sat quietly there and listening to them chatting. A friend of theirs’ brought his 3 years old daughter to their center. The little girl was so cute and pretty. She had some of the food too, and she brought her toys together too with her. After eating, she went to play with Teik's daughter.

His father (my darling's friend) chatted with them for around 30mins before bringing his daughter back home.

Around 2pm Teik, his daughter and a disabled friend went out. I didn't know where they went until when they were back, I saw they brought back a lot of packets of food.  Some kind people gave them food, and they went to collect.

As there was a lot of food, my darling asked me to take home some home. He asked me how many packets I want, I hesitated. In my heart, I thank God for kind people who give who us so much food 

The weather was extremely hot this afternoon, we decided to go to Tesco for some cool air and buy some groceries. When we entered Tesco, it was easy to find a parking lot and there were not many people in Tesco.

When enter inside it was so cooling and nice. We searched for things we wanted to buy. I bought 1 item only as other things there were quite expensive. We were there for more than half-hour.

After paying the items, we straight went back to the car. As we pass along the corridor towards our parking lot, we saw a few Panda drivers' were resting.

When we came back to the center, they rested awhile, my darling pack a few packets of food and steamboat (as there were extra) asked me to bring home for dinner.

Though it was a very hot day, I enjoyed eating steamboat and having a simple gathering with them. It was a nice outing for me, instead of sitting in my room at home

Outing to Queensbay Mall/Tesco Hypermarket

This morning I went for an outing to Queensbays Mall with my darling,Teik, and his daughter. They fetched from my home and we straight went to the Mall. We went smoothly on the road with not much traffic. We reached the mall and we easily found a parking space.

I haven't entered into Queensbay Mall for a very long time, maybe since my last gathering with my disabled friends. Today, it was my first time enter there, I was so surprised almost the whole place changed so much. If I were to go there alone, I don't think I can "round" there alone.

We walked around the place while enjoying the cool air-con. We went to the third floor and I saw the place changed into an eating and many people were having their lunch. We went to Lower Ground, AEON food court/hypermarket. We had our lunch there. Darling pushed me round the place to see what to stalls.

There wasn't much choice, the four of us ended up eating Nasi Kandar. After eating, we went inside the hypermarket to buy our things. I bought a few things and checked out other stuff. Then, we adjourned to the counter. I wheeled myself out, while darling pay my items.

It was very cold and nice inside Queensbay. We took a rest outside near the parking area, then continue to the 2nd floor. We went around the place. Shops were opened, but not many people around there. We went back to the 3rd floor where the carpark was. It was really nice enjoying the cool air in the supermarket.

Then we adjourned to Tesco Hypermarket. I never knew there was a supermarket linked to Tesco until I went inside. Straight from the food court, at the back, link to a supermarket name Udini Square. Half the shops were opened, others' were still on a renovation. When we went, the place was quite creepy and eerie. 

Teik wanted to find a disabled car sticker in D.I.Y.shop. We searched the shop but there wasn't any so we headed back Tesco. Since I wanted to buy food back home, we had our meal there, together ordering my food.

After buying everything, we head back to the car park. When we were out from Tesco, then I knew Udini Square was a Complex, where there were apartments were build above.

They drop me home around 4.15 pm.  It was a nice outing, enjoying the air-cond and seeing a Udini Square Complex for my 1st time. 

  

Get Together Lunch

Sunday, 31st August 2008 four of my close friends including myself gathered at Queensbay Mall We celebrated our friend’s Kar Wei 33rd birthday and a farewell lunch to Annah who is moving away to Kuala Lumpur with her family.

Queensbay Mall is a new shopping mall and it is situated near Pulau Jerjak There are a lot of shops which most of the things selling there and the food in restaurant are quiet expensive. Because this shopping mall is very long and for a wheelchair user like me with weak arms, I hardly can wheel my chair from one end to another without a helper pushing me.

Since Annah and I stayed quiet far from Queensbay Mall more than 30mins drive away our parents would not want to take us there, as it is too far for them to drop us. So we called for a van– Mobility Assistance Penang (MAP) which have lift for wheelchairs users.

Because we are using the van service, I drove my nearly power wheelchair there which was given to me by close friend of my family few months ago. It is easier for me to move around without anyone pushing me. Most of the time my friends and I use the van service on Sunday.

When we arrived there around 12.30pm, our other friends’ haven not arrived yet, so Annah and I wheeled around the ground floor while waiting for our friends. We met Kar Wei at a nearby shop as he was waiting for us. Around 15mins later, Yin Tsang and Chin Chin arrived together with Yin Tsang maid.

Because of Merdeka Holiday, there were a lot of people in the shopping mall and it was quiet hard for us to find a place to have lunch. Since all of us were already hungry we decided to go for Pizza Hut because it is a fast food, but when we arrived outside Pizza Hut, the place was full of people. So we make our way to another place, then Annah suggested that we go to Taiwan Bull Restaurant (which I have never been before) but my friends who went there once said the food was quite good. When we arrived outside the restaurant it was the whole place was full with people but luckily there were few empty sits, so a waiter leads us to our sits.

Despite the narrow passage, we managed to get into our sit. Kar Wei and Yin Tsang could slowly transfer themselves to the chair with some help from Yin Tsang maid.

It took us a while to choose the food each of us wants. Because it was my first time there, I didn’t know what food is good so I have to slowly choose it from the menu.

I choose two dishes which was Taiwan Shrimp Cake and Mushroom Kushiyaki and a Cappuccino drink which I saw in the menu was the cheapest among all other food. Since I am a small eater, I choose some light dishes. Though both of the dishes look delicious but to my disappointment it didn’t taste good after all.

Anyhow we enjoyed each other company, we talked and laughed and I had a nice feeling. I always have a good time when I am with this group of friends.

After lunch we went around to see some of the shops but the people were like ants crawling around here and there. It gives me a headache when I am at this shopping mall because there so many people and I am not sure where I am heading and I could not buy most of the thing there are over my budget.

Our van came to fetch annah and I around 5.30pm. I went home really happy because I got to meet my friends and having a nice time with them.

A afternoon at Gurney Plaza

Last Sunday, Annah and I went to Gurney Plaza for Chinese New Year shopping. I met her at Elle Shop. She bought a very nice pink bare back dress.

Then we went for lunch at Kim Gary Restaurant at the 3rd floor. It's our regular place where we have lunch. Dispite we are their regular customer, we had to queue to take our sit as there were many people. After ordering our food, we talked about many things. Since we had our free time, we took our time to enjoyed the food.

After paying the bill, we went down to the Ground Floor, we went our seperate ways, Annah went to Giordano while I went to check out Valentino shop because earlier I saw there were 70% discount for some T-shirts. Since the price was quite reasonable, I bought a dark blue T-shirt for Ah Pin. I hope he can wear and like it. Later I went back to Giordano shop to find Annah. She was slightly disappointed as she couldn't find the jeans she wants. Since we still have to time we sat outside the shop and talk.

I went Mac Donald to buy some food while waiting for mum to fetch me back. It was a nice and cooling afternoon at Gurney Plaza since it was a hot day.

Happy Birthday My Dear Friend

This afternoon we had a small gathering to celebrate Yeap's birthday. We had lunch at BBQ Chicken Restaurant in Gurney Plaza. Even though, it was a hot day yet we enjoyed the company of each other and also the food.

Annah, Y.Tsang and I shared a family plate of chicken, potatos and salad. The food was quite nice. The rest ordered their own food. This was my first time at this restaurant.

After lunch, we went our seprate ways. Yeap and Ah San went for a movie, Annah, Kar Wei. Y. Tsang and I hanged around the 3rd floor. I went to buy some things while the others checked out handphones.

It was really a nice gathering as we seldom meet so our birthdays is a get together for us all.

Simple gathering

On Sunday, 11th Nov, we had a simple gathering to celebrate Annah's birthday at Gurney Plaza. Since our group haven't met for the past 2 months, it was nice to see everyone again. There were altogether 8 of us and had lunch at Breek Cafe.

It was the nearest restaurant for us to go to. When we were at the place, we conbined 3 tables together. I notice we were the only group of people at the restaurant. Since it was open air, we enjoyed the breeze and each others company while waiting for the food to be served.

We really enjoyed our lunch. After lunch, few of us went their own way to do their shopping. But most of us went together for window shopping.

After our window shopping and few of them already gone back, I treated Annah at Starbuck because I didn't buy anything for her and we had a nice time together.

I believe Annah was really happy on that day. It was nice get together.

An afternoon with new friends

It was Saturday afternoon when Kuan Aw asked Yeap and I out. The meeting was at Gurney Plaza, Coffee Bean. The intention of both of us coming out was to meet another 2 new disabled friends who are on wheelchairs too. It was such a small world that the new friend (a young Malay guy) Shahid was Derrick (my colleague's) friend.

Shahid in his 20's seems to be an a very active and out-going guy.. I didn't get to talk much because not far from Coffee Bean, there was a mini concert and it was very noisy. Even though he sat just opposite me, I couldn't hear much of what he said . But he is a nice guy. He is now studying in USM but will be going to England to further his studies. I know he will definitely have a great further ahead.

Another friend was Alfred, he came slightly late. I didn't talk to him at all, but what I know he's working at Intel dealing wth computer. He was a quiet guy or maybe I didn't know him that much yet. Both of them have good life ahead.I really admired people like them.

I had a nice time getting to know them though it was only a short period of time. I hope I would be able to continue keeping in touch with them.

A Nice Meet Up

It was a casual afternoon where my friends and I gathered at Gurney Plaza. But it Kar Wei's "special day" I believe you all know what I mean, right? He need not have to mention as all of us (his close friends) already knew it, so we just had our usually gathering. It was really nice to see and have everyone's company there and it's not always that we have this gathering as individual has their own way to go.

While waiting for YT, Ken and Roger, Kar Wei, Annah Yeap and I had a simple lunch at Mac.Donald, our favourite place. The 4 of us have so much things to catched up with as we have not met for quite sometime. When the rest arrived around 2pm, they joint us and had some light food.

After everyone finish, we adjoured to the shops to check out what the new arrival. First, I went with Annah to Elle's shop but everything is so expensive, so went to Giornado's shop where the rest of my friends' were. They were choosing some clothes as there were on sales and discounts. It didn't interested me, so I went to Body Shop to buy something.

When everyone is done with the shopping, we went for a drink at Ipoh Street Restaurant and chit-chat before dismissed. It was a nice meet up with out you all.
