A Nice Family Lunch

Thursday, 23 July 2020

A few days earlier Janice arranged an appointment with Shen Ru (our cousin) Aunty Joyce to see her apartment and lunch at Straits Quay.

When Janice told me, I didn't feel like going as I couldn't eat much but thinking of Straits Quay eventually, I went as I love the place.

Around 11 am when we arrived at the Straits Quay, Shen Ru was already there with her mum to join us. It was difficult for us to find a parking lot as all the space was fill up. As Shen Ru lives there, she gave us her parking lot.

We went to visit Shen Ru studio apartment was on the 6 floors. It was a very nice bedded room and a cozy living room. From the side of the window, I could see the swimming pool downstairs.

We were at her place for about half an hour, then we adjourned to the restaurant downstairs for lunch. We searched for a few western food restaurants but was already closed down. Along there were other restaurants too, so we choose Healy Mac's & Irish Bar Restaurant. It was a bar/restaurant style.

We sat outside facing the sea and enjoy the breath. There were only a few tables occupied. We ordered fish and chips and a few other dishes too. When the food came, everyone was enjoying it. When I saw the delicious food, I don't have the appetite, I only ate a bit. They were eating and chatting away, while I ate quietly.

After finished eating, Aunty Joyce needs to go home, so all adjourned to the parking lot and say goodbye.

Thank you, God, for giving us a good time together.

Dark Mansion

Wednesday, 22 July 2020

Since last week Janice has planned to bring mum and I to Dark Mansion a tourist spot in

Kimberley Street, George Town. A week before we went, she called the person in charge whether the place is disabled friendly. They said yes, but the place is double stories. So we visited downstairs only.

As it is MCO, most of the tourist spots reduce their entrance price. The discount is from the end of July. We took the change to visit this place.

Janice didn't know the exact location, so she uses Waze and follows the way. When we reached Kimberley Street, she has difficulty in finding a parking lot. So she drops mum and me in front of Dark Mansion. There were a few steps up, but luckily by the side, there was a ramp that quite stepped. We ask a staff to help together push me up the ramp. From there, Janice went to park our car quite far as there was no parking space. While waiting for her, the staff took our temperature and I check in with my app.

We went to the side of the room and mum took a seat. Within minutes, a group of college students came in and gather at the reception area. It's was slightly difficult for Janice to buy tickets in as one of the group member line up for the tickets first

We went led into a dark room with very beautiful luminescence lights. There were 5 different rooms with different sceneries and different colourful lights. We took many photos there with the helpful staff named Jeffery.

Janice went upstairs to see the other rooms with luminescence lights. Mum and I rested in a small souvenir shop inside.  Janice came down within 20mins.  After we finished our tour, it was lunchtime.

A few shops away, there was a coffee shop. We walked there to have lunch. As we go in, there was a ramp. In that shop, there were only 2 stalls opened. We ordered a plate mee and mee hoon, the food there was nice. Only a few tables were occupied. After finished eating, we waited outside the coffee shop.  Janice went to take our car to fetch us.

Thank you, God, that I got the chance to visit this place and I felt really happy. Thank God too that everything went well that morning.

A Nice Family Outing

 Friday, 10 July 2020

I didn't plan to go out with my family on Friday (10/7) but a day before Janice told me she wanted to bring me to Maybank. As to check my ATM card there were some problems with it.

Around 11 am that morning, Janice, mum and I went out. It was the first time the three of us went out after the RMCO. Our first stop was at Maybank Pulau Tikus. We weren't sure whether I should go down, so Janice went in to check with the officer. Luckily I need not have to go, instead, the bank officer came down to our car and asked me a few questions. Mum and I were in the car, while Janice handles everything for me.

After my ATM card was done, we adjourned to Gurney Plaza. This is the first time I entered the mall since four months ago (before COVID lockdown).

As Janice drove into the car park, a security guard took our temperature. We park at our usual OKU parking lot.

Our first stop was at Lower ground Guardian shop to buy a few of my things.
There were many people on that day, all were with a face mask. In every shop, before we going in we have to check-in on our hp app or write down our name. We also went to a few other shops to buy our necessary things. Sadly there were some shops have closed down due to Covid-19.

After buying our things, we went for lunch at Hideout Cafe on the 3rd floor. When we there, only a few tables were occupied. We ordered Pizza and a glass of cappuccino coffee and the three of us shared it.

When we finished our lunch, I wanted to ease myself. We went to the disabled toilet on the 3rd floor, but we found it was spoil as the door couldn't open. So Janice took me to the ladies' toilet, but there were too many people, so we got out from there. We adjourned to the ground floor disabled toilet, again it was spoil. We went into the ladies and at last, I manage to ease myself

As we were on the ground floor, we went to McDonald for some ice-cream. Most of the tables were occupied and people we queuing up to buy ice-cream.
It had been sometimes since I last ate Sundae Cone and I enjoyed it. We didn't know that we were sitting under the aircon. Wow... we felt so cold as eating the ice-cream at the same time.

After finished, we quickly got out of MCD. We went back down to the lower ground floor and headed to the car park. The disabled parking lot was near to the ramp, so we easily got into our car.

From Gurney, Janice adjourned to Ms. Chong's eye optical shop to pass her 2 boxes of old glasses. From there, we headed home.

I had a nice time with my family at Gurney. Thank you, God, for Janice to bring us out.

Shopping at Gama Supermarket

Wednesday, 11 Mac 2020

This morning Janice brought me and mum to Gama Supermarket to buy my bra and groceries etc. Before coming to Gama, Janice dropped by at Jios Pharmacy in Macalister Road to buy things for her in-laws.

When we arrived into Gama, we went to find a parking space. Thank God there was an empty OKU lot next to the entrance lift. We headed to the first floor which ladies section to buy my bra. Janice helped me to try the bra in the small fitting room. There was an offer for the bra so we bought a few.

After paying the bill, we went up to another floor which was the ladies' shoe department. Mum wanted to buy daily wear sandals. Janice helped her to try on a variety of sandals. I sat there and wrote my journal while waiting for them.

The real truth, the shoes department never interest me or fancy any shoes because I can never wear any of them.

Mum took some time there, then I showed her a sandal and she tries it with others' too. At last, she agreed to the sandals she likes and bought for her. After paying the bill, we left that place.
Since it was about lunchtime, we were hungry, but sadly there was no food count anymore inside Game.

Janice decided we went to the bakery the near grocery department and bought some buns to fill our stomach.

While eating, we went into the grocery department, there was a list of things to buy. We check out the items and bought what we wanted. There were many people at the store too.

Mum pushed me out another way, while Janice queue up to pay for the items. When finishing everything in the groceries. We headed to our car and reload the things into the boot and pay the parking bill and we headed home.

Even though it was only a few hours, I enjoyed my time there. It has been some time since I last been to Gama Supermarket

An Evening Walk At Strait Quay

Monday,  6 Jan 2020

It was a beautiful evening where Cherylene (my 21-year-old niece) took me out alone to Strait Quay. On Saturday night,  we had a short talk about going outing. I didn’t know where to go. So, she said, “I will take you, Strait Quay, to see the sunset”. (Strait Quay was Cheryl’s favorite place to hang out with her friends)

On Monday itself, I didn’t have a real mood to go out, but since we had already plan to go. I told her we would go.

That evening around 5.15pm, Cheryl came up to my place with a big bag which contains many things inside, including foodstuff etc.

She pushed me down to the car park and assisted me into the car. It took around 20mins drive as there was not much traffic and Cheryl drove slightly fast. I was happy that I got the chance to go for an evening outing

We reached at Strait Quay and searching for a parking space. At that same time, there was security guard cycled around the parking area. He led us to the nearest parking area/spare up to the ramp. Thanks to him, we found a spacious parking space very near to the ramp.

It was a very nice evening on that day. Cheryl pushed me out to the open-air jetty here there were many boats tied up. Cheryl pushed me along the jetty, where there were children, young, and old people of all races hanging out, exercising.

Not far from there, I saw the lighthouse. We didn't there, but Cheryl took to another place (her favorite place, where she and her friends hangout). It was more than 20mins walk. She wants me to experience the beautiful sunset. She pushed me all the way as it was connecting partway all along. All along the way, there a some people exercising (walking & jogging).

The purpose Cheryl took me there was to see the beautiful sunset. The ground was level and easy to push. While Cheryl pushed me, we talked and taking photos and video of the scenery there.

We stopped and rested on a big open field. Cheryl read her book and we ate some tit bites to fill our stomach. Some young people were hanging nearby around. There we were, sitting on the field watching the beautiful sunset. It was GOD creation!!! I felt so peaceful during that time, watching the wave of the ocean and sunset.

We took some photos and continue walking until we reached almost the end of the road, where there was a playground and a football field. The playground was empty with no children, but on the field, a group of young men playing football. While walking back, we saw a small fishermen village and their boats.

We had a long way to walk back, I took photos and videos along the way. I was really happy to see the sunset. We make our way back to the car park. The security guard on the bicycle was still there. He guarded us from parking area.

Even though it was only two hours outing, it was great of Cheryl to bring out see the sunset and for an evening walk

Thank God the good weather that evening and give me chance to go out.

God, What Are You Doing In My Life?

Tuesday, 2 May 2022 I'm lying on my bed now thinking of my life. What is God doing in my life? I really cannot understand. I keep thin...
